In 2009, Franklin Township bought 91 acres next to its existing active recreation facility. The Township's goal for the property was to protect, preserve and restore natural areas to enhance public access and provide passive recreational and educational opportunities for the visitors. In collaboration with the Brandywine Conservancy, a feasibility study was developed with plans including, site inventory & analysis, concept and final site plan.

Hillspring Landscape Architecture, in collaboration with Christopher Allen and Julie Regnier, was retained to develop a Master Plan for a 60-acre community park . Working with a Task Force, the scope of the project included; the establishment of a vision, goals and objectives; develop a program; prepare alternative concept plans; prepare a master plan and develop cost estimates, identify funding and revenue sources and an implementation strategy.

The Brandywine Creek Greenway is hosted by twenty-four municipalities along the east and west branches of the Brandywine Creek in Chester County, PA and is a conservation planning initiative of the Brandywine Conservancy. Mr. Lane was retained by the Brandywine Conservancy's Environmental Management Center to assist with the development of a concept plan and graphics for presentations to municipalities.
