A spirit space is a place that evokes reverent feelings to affirm our connection to the Earth.  They are personal and spiritual spaces enriched with objects and plants that bring healing energy.  Spirit spaces are designed for soulful renewal and meditation.  They can be a personal retreat at home, a courtyard or terrace overlook, a special community space, an educational venue or a sanctuary for fauna.  Ancient restorative spaces include: the medicine wheel and its garden which incorporates stones, plants and objects in a spoked circle of healing energy and the labyrinth, a circuitous contemplative journey along an outer circular pathway to an inner core.  These spaces can also be settings for: contemporary sculpture that has a personal connection through meaning, personality or soul; stone cairns or markers of significance; stone inuksuk - a beacon or guide to travelers; stone inunnguaq - a representation of a human being.  They are all guardians, information givers and bring creative Earth energy.  The spaces and objects can be united in a design to fulfill any need the soul desires.
